Our brain consists of IQ and EQ

When I was child, I always heard "IQ". IQ high people is intelligence. But, I seldom heard people talk about "EQ". According to the Ruben Bar-On, EQ is an array of non-cognitive capabilities, competencies, and skills that influence one’s ability to succeed in coping with environmental demands and pressures. Another definition for EQ that is EQ is a set of social and emotional abilities that help individuals cope with the demands of daily life.

In my mind, EQ is more important than IQ. This is because we can have high IQ if we keep reading. But, EQ is different. EQ is not related how intelligence the brain is. People who have EQ, they are very creative, determination and ready to accept something which are challenge. People who are high EQ, will be successful. According to the Thomas Edison, genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration. Accordingly a genius is often merely a talented person who has done all of his or her homework. Another quotes from Thomas Edison, the three great essentials to archive anything worth while are, first-hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, common sense. Needless to say, hard work and effort should be often appear in our mind.

When I read the book about Thomas Edison, I realize that he is high EQ. When he is young, he like ask question-Why? Why? Why? Why 1+1 =2? If a person ask you, why 1+1=2? why 1+1=3? Can we answer it? Thus, many people feel that what kind of stupid question it is. Many people scold him stupid, idiot and others. Finally, he want to prove and show them he is not stupid, he is not idiot. As for me, stupid and idiot also are sensitive words. Once these two words appear in my mind, I try to prove them I'm not stupid, I'm not idiot. In the same times, it reminds me also, everything happen also must have at least one reason. We cannot say we don't know and let the things happen. Once you think you are right, you must prove it.
